7:00am)
Pay:                       Pay-$19.21/hr, once fully hired $20.46/hr + $0.40/hr for third shift
Job Summary:   Maintain the mechanical and electrical systems and components of the plants process equipment and facilities; perform corrective and preventive maintenance within a steel foundry environment; safely operate the maintenance associated tools, machines and devices; capability to safely start up, operate and shut down process equipment as necessary; and enter preventive maintenance information into the database within the AS 400 computer system.
Job Duties:
Perform the repair and monitoring work on mechanical and electrical equipment and components in all areas of the plant and grounds
Follow all lock out / tag out procedures, ensuring the removal of all-energy, kinetic and electric, before commencing with repairs
Work in a team manner with other employees and outside service personnel to facilitate repairs
Communicate the status of projects and repairs to supervision and other maintenance personnel on a shift to shift basis
Work with various tools, devices and materials such as hammers, wire cutter, torches, welders, drills, saws, grinders, amp meters, electrical tape, electrical wire, lubricants, and paints as required
Report the status of repairs and completed work to the Production and Maintenance Supervisors
Follow job and project lists as determined by the Maintenance Supervisor
Perform preventive maintenance items according to the schedule
Maintain, repair or upgrade current operating equipment
Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to supervision
Maintain a constant awareness of potential problem and breakdown areas
Assist in the development and implementation of the preventative maintenance program for equipment in all areas of the plant
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production or Maintenance Supervisors
Work under the guidance of the Production Supervisor on off-shifts to allow the plant to run in a safe and efficient manner
Clean up work areas and put away tools after performing work in all areas of the plant
Maintain good interpersonal and communication relationships
Place parts in their proper storage areas, keep the maintenance department neat and orderly
Record work performed properly and accurately on the Shift Report and file the report on the maintenance desk at the end of the shift
Enter information into the preventive maintenance computer database within the AS 400 system
Adhere to the guidelines and rules in the companys Safety Handbook
Follow the areas associated instructions provided in the Work Instructions, and the procedures detailed in the Quality Management Procedures
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Previous related experience is a plus
Journeymans electrical license or approved equivalent is a plus; Must at least be working toward obtaining certificate.
Must understand electrical control panels and the sequences involved in the start up and sut down of the associated equipment
Must understand hydraulic control systems
Must understand combustion systems and controls
Must understand compressed air, gas, and negative pressure systems
Must be competent in mechanical skills
Must be competent in electrical skills
Must be competent in welding skills
Must be competent in plumbing skills
Must be able to apply basic math skills
Must be capable of computer data entry
Must be able to understand and interpret schematic drawings
Must be able to comprehend and complete the required reporting documents
Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
Must be able to withstand cold weather and high heat/humidity working conditions
Must be able to work scheduled shift including weekends and overtime when necessary
Must be able to work at a minimum elevated height of 40 feet above the ground
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and traverse the ground
Must be able to bend and twist within confined spaces or close quarters
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Must have vision at or corrected to 20/40
Must be able to withstand the radiant glare off of high temperature hot metal
Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment
